Phoenix, a baby Black Lab mix puppy, was born in October 2007. We're looking for a very special
family for Phoenix as he was brought to the shelter to be euthanized shortly after being born so had to be bottle-fed in order
to survive without his mother. His 'guardian angel' is doing a great job and he's a strong & solid-built puppy. UPDATE Feb 14/08 ---- Phoenix now weighs 44 lbs!! And he just received his first booster vaccine. He'll
soon be going to the shelter to socialize with other dogs as so far he's only spent time with people and cats. We expect he'll
be ready to join his new family in late March as we need to have him fully vaccinated before moving on. UPDATE
Mar 31/08 ---- Phoenix now weighs 66 lbs! What a big baby at only 5 months old and we're hoping his new family will
come along and open their hearts and home to him as he deserves it. If you think you can offer Phoenix a loving & caring
home, please email diannealdan@sympatico.ca for an adoption application.

Bibi was born in January 2008. She's an Australian Shepherd so will be on the large size when
full-grown. Still very much a pup, she will need patience and training when she joins her new family. Bibi will be vaccinated
against rabies and have her initial boosters, be microchipped, defleaed and dewormed prior to adoption but she will need to
be spayed within 3 months of being adopted. She is friends with Asha, Milo and Woody who are also looking for a home. Bibi
will join her new family at the end of April/early May so we're accepting applications in the meantime. If you'd like to adopt
Bibi, please email diannealdan@sympatico.ca for an adoption application.

We would be so grateful if there's a quiet home in a suburb or country willing to adopt this
senior White Shepherd as it seems so sad to have him spend his last years at a shelter. He's been there for two years and
we'd really like for him to have a few years in a comfortable home environment, where it's warm and cosy. The dampness at
the shelter isn't doing his arthritis any good but in a warm home, he would do much better, taking some supplements (which
we would be willing to cover the cost for). Paris is about 9 yrs old now and he's neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.
Paris gets along with female dogs and it's preferred that there already be a spayed female dog in his new home. Paris doesn't
get along with male dogs as when he was on the streets as a stray, they kept attacking him and when found by the rescuers,
he was badly injured by the other dogs. He recovered and they returned him to his neighbourhood but once again, the dogs attacked
him so he's been at the shelter ever since. Therefore we cannot risk him living with a male dog. He shares his kennel with
a female Husky called Snowy and he puts up with non-stop pestering from her. If you have what Paris would love ....
a warm, loving home with a female dog, no cats or toddlers, please email diannealdan@sympatico.ca
for an adoption application ----- Paris would be forever grateful!

Snowy is currently in her foster home in Toronto while she waits for her family to come
along. She's a spayed female Husky, born in 2003. She's a playful and an extremely affectionate dog. She gets
along with other dogs but would want to be the top dog if her new home already has a dog; so she'd do well with a submissive
male. Snowy is a special needs dog because she was bitten by a certain sandfly and contracted an illness called Kala-azar
(Leishmaniosis). She has responded well to the treatment so can live a normal life with a daily medication called Allopurinol
(Zylapour) which is, thankfully, an inexpensive medication. She just needs to be blood tested every 6 months to check that
her titre is remaining at an acceptable level. Snowy's blood was tested in December 2007 and her titre is at 1:100!!!,
the lowest reading possible so she's doing great. If her readings are good, she could go off the medication until the
next checkup. Snowy can live a normal life just like any other dog, with the medication as and when required, so we would
like for her to get this opportunity. If you'd like to give Snowy that chance, please email diannealdan@sympatico.ca
for an adoption application. We also have a couple of videos of Snowy available for viewing.

Atlas, a Shepherd/Lab mix, is about 1yr old and is a brave boy. He was brought to the shelter
with his trembling body full of small pellets and his left front leg shattered and paralysed. He faced this bad
luck with amazing courage and he couldn't stop thanking us, kissing us wherever he could catch us. His leg has been amputated
and now he walks on his three strong legs with ease. Atlas deserves a home and a loving family and he's waiting for
you. Atlas is vaccinated and will be microchipped, dewormed and defleaed as well. To adopt Atlas, please email
diannealdan@sympatico.ca for an adoption application. Update May 2007 What a happy-go-lucky
dog! I got to meet Atlas during my visit recently. He's a big goofy boy who will brighten up your life for sure!
With some obedience training this fellow will become a truly loyal companion ... please consider Atlas as he's definitely
one of the favourites! ****PLEASE CONSIDER FOSTERING ATLAS
SO HE CAN GET OUT OF THE SHELTER**** Atlas is just over 1 year of age and is a brave boy.
He was brought to the shelter with his trembling body full of small pellets and his left front leg shattered. He faced
his bad luck with amazing courage and he couldn't stop thanking us, kissing us wherever he could catch us. He can walk
and run on three strong legs with ease. We have a short video to demonstrate his ability to walk and run, as well as
go up & down the steps, which we will gladly forward to you on request. Atlas deserves a home and a loving family
and he is waiting to hear from you. If interested in adopting Atlas who has a super personality, please email diannealdan@sympatico.ca for an adoption application. UPDATE We are
so sorry that Atlas is still waiting for his new family. He's been at the shelter for way too long and we'd really like
to see him move on to begin his new life. Please consider this young adult neutered male dog as your companion.
We are willing to do a foster-to-adopt arrangement for a 2 week period, assuming that if you decide not to adopt him, that
he'll be able to stay with you until his permanent home is found. Update April 2008 At last, after spending over a year at the shelter during which time
he received excellent care, handsome Atlas has been adopted and will join his family on May 24/08!
