This page (which is still a work-in-progress), compiled from contact with hotels
and website listings, is a source of pet-friendly accommodation throughout Greece. Although I've strived to
be accurate in compiling the information, it is recommended that you contact the hotel directly about their pet accommodation
policy as some restrictions may apply.
If, during your visit to Greece, you wish to bring home a stray dog or cat, be sure
to check on your country's animal quarantine requirements. (Canada and the United States, as well as many countries
in Europe, have no quarantine requirements for dogs and cats.)
The recommended steps include taking the dog or cat to a veterinarian
in Greece for vaccinations. Airline reservations - in the passenger or cargo compartment - come next. (Some
airlines will allow small pets - puppies or cats - to travel in the passenger cabin.) Regardless of where
you are flying to, your new pet must have a ticket. Final step is to call your home country embassy in
Athens, to confirm you've covered all the necessary requirements.
